Art 3 Final: Reflection Essay
This art class this year was a roller coaster of experiences! Comparing it to all my previous art classes, this one was definitely challenging. Art 3 opened me up to so many different ways of art that I didn't know I could do. Most of the time I was always painting in previous art classes always wanting more; and boy did Art 3 deliver. The new knowledge and experiences were amazing, and I enjoyed every second of it. Art 3 help me realize that I good at making other versions o

I also think this exercise really helped me with painting what I see, instead of what I assume. Also, capturing the small details in each object. A new beginning of color! Oil Painting Process
Step 1: For this I just used a lite charcoal piece to draw the base lines of my objects before going over it with gamsol and black oil paint. Step 2: Now, I've started with gamsol and black paint on the book and "J". I was a little nervous at first; as you see I'm leaning heavily on the line, instead of value. Step 3: I started to get some confidence here and it's looking pretty well. During this step I also wanted to reposition my softball. Step 4: Now I've been able to add

Self-Portrait Sculpture Process
Step 1: Starting point/ Foundation Step 1: Step 1 was probably the most confusing of the steps because I'm still trying to get in the swing of sculpting with the clay. I was nervous that it wasn't going to perfect the first try. I remember I was adding more than needed to on some of my facial features, like my nose and eyes. My nose was huge! Soon, as time went on, I started to get my groove of things and started really getting into detail in step 2. Step 2: Starting of detai

Although, I did have really good success with the legs and feet of the boy when drawing the border. That really help me gain confidence going into the next step.
