Still life Oil painting process Part II

So, where did we leave off?

Before adding color onto my still life oil painting, I spent some time just using black and white oil painting really trying to capture highlights, shading and value. I also think this exercise really helped me with painting what I see, instead of what I assume. Also, capturing the small details in each object.

A new beginning of color!

This part of the still life oil painting process was definitely the most nerve-racking part of the process. I was nervous to add color; will it be the right shade can I still capture everything? I know for sure I was still not understanding fully how to approach this step in the process at first, but I did eventually understand.

Colors are starting to pop!

This next step in the process the colors are starting to become more vibrant and pop. Another problem that I faced in this step was trying to get the right color for the "J" and softball. It was really hard to make the ball seem more of a neon; especially since the "J" was already a type of muted yellow-gold color.

WE DID IT! THE FINISHED PRODUCT!!

Finally, the finished product after lots of time well spent and multiple corrects my still life oil painting is finally finished!
