The role: Professional Makeup artist
Film and television makeup artist have the responsibility of making actors look all natural under certain light or completely transforming them into something different. For example, a natural look is mainly seen in live shows like musicals and plays, while drastic transformations are normally found in movies like sci-fi and horror.

2. A typical day for a makeup artist consist of arriving early on set in order to set up their makeup station. Then, the makeup artist, to the best of their ability will try to recreate and bring the "look book" or the directors' vison of how he/she wants the artist to look. Also, they have to stay consistent throughout multiple actors if they have to look the same. Next, makeup artist has to stay "on book" or near the camera to deliver touch ups and fix things like sweat stains and smudges. Lastly, clean all used tools and prepare for next opening. The required credentials of makeup artist would be a cosmetology or esthetician license.

3. College majors that help with the training of becoming a makeup artist are theater arts, BFA in production design, and BFA in Fine arts/Painting. Theater arts focus on the hands-on experience of working on stage. BFA in production design focuses on the application of cinematic and theatrical craft. BFA in Fine arts/Painting focuses on information of color, shadow, and anatomy.

4. Top school programs for a makeup artist career would be programs like Make-up Designory (MUD) and Savannah College for the Arts and Design (SCAD). MUD is composed of a global leader with a rigorous, curriculum-based courses. SCAD offers great path for a traditional degree of production design
